The corporate world as we know has been misogynistic, allowing a huge disparity between the men and women in the workspace. Women have gotten so used to being told their place that they believed it. In the 20th century and moving forward, the surge for diversity and inclusion has overtaken every industry. Today women are given opportunities to be corporate pacesetters across different departments. It doesn’t come easy, but it is possible! It takes more women coming together to lift each other up, mentor each other and guide the young ones to wrap their heads around this corporate chain to ensure a successful continuation of female induction in the corridors of power. The Corporate Women in Leadership was formed to uphold these values, share knowledge and impact skills to young women aspiring to be leaders and anything but ordinary.
In 2016, FabAfriq Media Group launched The Corporate Women in Leadership program in Africa, aiming to support over 1000 women. The initiative includes organizing conferences, providing mentorship, and offering career development. The goal is to create more job opportunities for women, enhance their career advancement, and increase their representation in boardrooms by 2025. The program empowers women in corporate leadership roles and aligns with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to contribute to the advancement and empowerment of women in the professional sphere, fostering a more inclusive corporate landscape in Africa.
